name
mnights is short for something the same way cstrike is short for "Counter-Strike"
synopsis
mnights is a rogue-lite first person shooter. mnights is gloomy and moody but is no "horror" game.
setting
mnights' setting is atemporal mix of mid-late 2000-s incorporating some modern elements.
context
mnights is best described as dreamy and liminal. mnights is not a dream per se, but it is best could be described as such -- an uncomfortable, lonely and liminal dream, it should feel like a bad dream (but not a nightmare).
Not everything has to make sense. The game is intended to be a work of art, symbols and images of which are supposed to invoke feelings directly and not encode any deeper messages. In other words, everything happening in the game should be put forth, and thenceforth taken, at face value without any interpretation.
(nothing that happens in a dream is real except the feelings themselves)
gameplay
(primary gameplay loop)
